Hi, my name is Krissy, and I'm on a mission to rid the world of bad art and design!!!!!

About Me

I have been artistically inclined for as long as I can remember, ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil or paintbrush I was drawn to creating things, and have spent many, many hours doing such – often at odd hours of the night. Inspiration for my work is drawn from many places, from the things I see in the world around me, from my daughter, my family, from myths, legends and stories, and from my own imagination, ideals and beliefs. I also draw inspiration from many renowned artists, surrealists such as Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte and M.C.Escher, fantasy artists such as Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell and HR Giger, and my favourite of all artists, Leonardo Da Vinci. I studied art, design and photography all through College and continued that study on at University afterwards, expanding my tertiary studies into digital media as well as traditional.

I live in Porirua (New Zealand) with my 12 year old daughter and our many furry, scaley and slimey pets.

I am an intensely passionate person, a dreamer, an environmentalist, animal lover, martial artist, book lover, artist, designer, and most importantly a mother and member of a large and wonderful family.  I love variety in art and as such, love painting a variety of different subjects and styles  ... variety, as they say, is the spice of life.

About Ethereal

I started Ethereal in mid 2006 for the purpose of getting my work out into the world and with the hopes of making some money in the process. I absolutaly love what I do, and think it's one of the best things in the world to be able to make money from something I am so passionate about.

All of the images used in my work on this website are my own. My mum, and my daughter and I have spent many hours driving around the Wellington region collecting hundreds of photos to use in my work, either as reference images or in photomanipulations. Some of the photographs featured in my photomanipulations have come from the Wellington Botanic Gardens, Massey Memorial at Point Halswell in Wellington, Te Papa and Titahi Bay Beach.
